Mania. Goldberg accepted and later got an opportunity against Kevin Owens at Fastlane for the WWE Universal Championship. Goldberg cut through Owens easily, making his upcoming match with Lesnar a title affair. The two had an in- ring confrontation and shook hands, but when Paul Heyman referred to Goldberg as “Brock Lesnar’s bitch,” it threw Goldberg off and he got pulled in for an F5. Weeks later, they had another showdown where Goldberg took down Brock with another spear. BRAY WYATT (C) VS. RANDY ORTONWWE Championship. Once upon a time, Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt were rivals based on their devious natures and love of mindgames.

Orton was in the middle of an uphill battle due to Wyatt’s tendency to have backup. Orton eventually relented and joined the Wyatt Family, earning his keep while receiving distrust from Luke Harper. Regardless, Orton and Wyatt were the surviving wrestlers on their Survivor Series team and took out Roman Reigns in a joint effort at Royal Rumble to get Orton the win and an automatic title shot at Wrestle. Mania. While Orton took down Harper at Elimination Chamber, Wyatt himself entered the Elimination Chamber match.

He pinned both John Cena and AJ Styles to win his very first singles title. This put Wyatt and Orton on a collision course.

Orton backed off from the title shot, refusing to face his mentor. Instead, the title shot was decided by a battle royal and later a singles match between AJ Styles and Luke Harper. BUT! Wyatt’s guard was down and Orton had gained enough of his trust to get access to Wyatt’s home, where Sister Abigail was buried. Orton betrayed Wyatt by setting fire to the shack and declaring that their match was still on. After defeating Styles for the right, Orton is once again the #1 contender.

MICKIE JAMES VS. NATALYA VS. ALEXA BLISS (C) VS.

BECKY LYNCH VS. CARMELLA VS. NAOMISix Pack Challenge for the WWE Smack. Down Women’s Championship.

Alexa Bliss lost her championship to Naomi, but Naomi was too injured to compete afterwards and had to give it up. Alexa defeated Becky Lynch for the right to the vacant championship, but with Wrestle. Mania near, that’s only made the target on her back even bigger.

Charlotte defended the Women’s Championship against Bayley one Raw and had Dana Brooke cheat in her favor. Sasha Banks arrived to even the odds and cheat in Bayley’s favor. Charlotte chose to ignore her own wrongdoing and made a big deal out of squeaky- clean Bayley winning her first title via nefarious means. They had a rematch at Fastlane and Bayley once again helped due to Sasha Banks keeping the peace. Another rematch was signed for Wrestle. Mania, but this time Sasha had the opportunity to be added. By defeating Bayley in a non- title match, Sasha earned a spot to make it a triple threat.

Nia Jax, similarly, defeated Bayley for a spot in the match. Being that it was a no- disqualification match, Charlotte brought up how interesting it was that Sasha chose not to help out her “good friend” Bayley.

BIG CASS AND ENZO VS. LUKE GALLOWS AND KARL ANDERSON (C) VS. CESARO AND SHEAMUSLadder Match for the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship. Gallows and Anderson’s inability to grab championship gold finally came to an end when they unseated Cesaro and Sheamus. The former champs’ attempts to regain their titles were marred by interference from Enzo and Cass, who had issues with Gallows and Anderson. Enzo and Cass earned a title shot, but came out empty handed. Enzo and Cass took on Cesaro and Sheamus to see who would be #1 contenders.

Gallows and Anderson disagreed with this, since they already defeated both teams. They chose to interfere and beat down both teams.
